Objectives:
Students will be able to identify the purpose and structure of an invitation letter.
Students will be able to effectively communicate the essential elements of an invitation letter.
Students will be able to write a clear and engaging invitation letter for the Asian Games.
Materials:
Samples of invitation letters
Paper
Pens or pencils
Procedure:1. Introduction (5 minutes)
* Begin by asking students if they have ever received an invitation letter.
* Explain that invitation letters are used to invite someone to an event or occasion.
* Discuss the purpose of an invitation letter and its general structure.
2. Model Reading and Analysis (10 minutes)
* Provide students with samples of invitation letters.
* Guide them in identifying the key elements of an invitation letter, such as the sender's address, recipient's address, date, time, location, and RSVP information.
* Discuss the language and tone used in invitation letters.
3. Guided Practice (15 minutes)
* Divide students into small groups.
* Provide each group with a scenario for the Asian Games.
* Ask students to work together to write an invitation letter based on the scenario.
* Encourage them to use clear and engaging language, as well as the appropriate format and structure.
4. Individual Writing (20 minutes)
* Have students return to their individual desks.
* Ask them to write their own invitation letter for the Asian Games.
* Remind them to include all the essential elements discussed in the previous activities.
5. Peer Review (10 minutes)
